What To Expect

A bed and breakfast (or B&B) is a small lodging establishment that offers overnight accommodation and breakfast. A bed and breakfast is a private home with fewer than 10 bedrooms available for commercial use and licensed thru the State. Each one has it's own personality. Antiques and lace Inn specializes in romantic getaways and only accommodates adults.

Once you arrive at Antiques and lace please ring the bell and someone will greet and check you in. The Inn Keeper does live on the property. If you are going to be checking in late please call ahead of time to notify the B&B of your expected arrival time. There is no 24 hour front desk attendant, so if you will be checking in after hours we reserve the right to post directions on the entry door directing you to your room.

Breakfast varies from day to day and the Inn keeper decides what will be cooked or served. Some examples of our breakfast are: Pancakes, eggs, bacon, waffles, or a deluxe continental breakfast of cereal, muffins, fruit, yogurt, toast, boiled eggs, juice and coffee.

We supply wine glasses and ice-buckets for your use. Each suite has a refigerator as well. Candles can be purchased for a small fee.

The television can be a distraction for couples that are trying to reconnect or just be romantic, so there is no cable in the suites. We do how ever supply DVD players and movies. There is a television with cable in the common area for guest to watch and relax.

There is a fireplace in each suite. Our fireplaces use alcohol gel fuel. Gel fireplaces don't function by burning wood, but instead they operate through the burning of a grain alcohol gel. Each can of gel can burn for about 2-3 hours. While the gel is burning and producing heat in the room, there is no fumes or smoke released into the room.

We are located in the country and there is limited lighting along the roads at night so drive carefully and look out for deer. We do have lights surrounding the B&B. In the months of late Sep-Oct there will be some sightings of Japanese beetles (lady bugs) in the B&B due to the cutting down of the corn fields. We will make every effort to minimize them coming in the house.
